Getting A Grip
05/23/06
Yesterday was a good day. We had a good harvest and I was able to get a handle on a couple of problem weed areas. There's still tons of weeding to do but at least you can see the rows now. The rain makes it easy to pull the weeds.
I checked out the potato field. They are just b -
Rain!
05/22/06
Thank goodness it's raining. Things were beginning to be so dry i thought that it may never rain again. I am so thankful. It's saving me a lot of worry. Our potatoes are dry cropped and this will really make them come alive. We just sowed corn too and I have not been able to get it ir -
slow market
05/21/06
The farmers market Saturday turned out to be really slow. It was a windy, cold day so when that happens attendance is usually a little on the slow side. By 1:00 PM the wind had me wore out. We packed up and came home early. We did manage to sell just about everything we had except a few pounds -

Yesterday we had a record harvest of salad greens. We brought in about 53 lbs of our gourmet mix. Small by some standards but for us, a small farm harvesting by hand, a substantial harvest. We also had about 12 lbs of braising greens, 10 lbs of spinach, 10 lbs of arugula and 5 lbs of pea shoots. -

05/15/06
Sundat morning, normally a rest day but not this Sunday. There is just too much to do. I go out to unload our delivery van. It won't start. Bad relay. I now knoe how to override the relay thanks to a $100.00 visit by my mobile mechanic. Success! But the vehicle really needs to go into th -
Two Markets down
05/13/06
Two markets down, twenty more to go. Another great day. and the end of a banner week. Many new faces today and many old friends and returning customers and a complete sell out. We literally brought home nothing. It was one of those days when it all clicked. We sold the last bag of greens and th -
Tomatoes!
05/11/06
Yea! The first succession of tomatoes are in the ground. They were transplanted into our 100X20 ft greenhouse. They look great. We still have a couple of beds to prep in there. We'll get to it this week. We'll be putting melons into one of our smaller 50x100ft greenhouse's soon. -
crank'n it out
05/10/06
Hey There! Boy have we been busy. Spring produce is on full swing. The greens are especially nice right now. We are offering specialty greens like arugula, mizuna and pea shoots. They are about as nice as I have ever seen. Our new techniques for sowing and harvesting are really paying off. We
